We have all heard about the red card. May have had an inkling of the green carpet on the rising. But, the peach carpet is a new found show stopper! Peach carpet events are centered on providing up and coming videographers / documentarians from the African diaspora to showcase their work.
I had the magnificent opportunity to attend a peach carpet event in Louisville this past weekend. A premiere show naturally my first thought was, what the heck do I wear? In the end I decided to go with the sensible options elegant, chic, comfortable and of course weather appropriate.
This asymmetrical maxi I do adore, I thought for this occasion it was extremely appropriate. An understated piece with lots of character. Initially I intended to wear leopard pumps for an extra oomph. But mother nature decided otherwise; so I paired with boots instead. My tribal statement necklace that I am loving oh so much; and gold accent piece pulled it all together.
Hosted in the Kentucky Center for African American Heritage; the event was a wonderful opportunity. One of a three, the film that caught my attention “Welcome Home – A Journey Into Afro-Costa Rica.” Now uploaded on youtube if you get an opportunity check it out. Definitely worth seeing.
