In this day and age thrifting is #trending particularly with the crash of the economy. It somehow has taken or became a new wave order.
I personally have always been fascinated by putting my own pieces together. Transcending from a mannequin has never appealed to me or my pocket for that matter. My good friend Sarah always has inspiration for styling thrift finds. I have teamed up with her to share a few tid bits for lucrative thrifting:
Where is the good stuff. The creme-da-la-creme of the stash. Ritzie high price areas usually have the best stock.
2. Dress the part
Be one with your silhouette. No I am not saying show up in your birthday suite. I usually dressed in leggings, a tank top, easy slip on / off shoes. That way I can try on clothes / shoes on the shop floor and not have to fend for the changing room.
3. Jump out the box
have an open mind. The men’s section isn’t exclusive to me; what, yeah that can be done. My point is don’t limit yourself to a section.I usually go through all the aisles enjoying the textures, colours and varied prints. Gaining inspiration for the next off the wall outfit.
4. Maximum Revenue
getting the best bang for your buck. Sign up for newsletters, event calendars, coupons (printed and online). Shop on discount days those are my absolute favourite.
5. Shop off season
Seasons change is the best time to hit time the thrift store; think about it, everyone is clearing out for new stock.
